Incubating Ideas

Here’s  what I am interested in. If you’re interested in this stuff too, let’s talk.

I’ve been diving into the national discussion about energy.

I would like to be a part of the solution to the question of alternative energy generation and how to make electricity more intelligent. The Smart Grid initiative has captured my imagination, and the idea of turning the nation’s electrical infrastructure into a vast network of switches and data seems critical. It seems to me that we can turn the grid into an “electrical Internet” and make energy delivery Intelligent Vs. its current state, which functions like a garden hose.

I also like the idea of multiple sources of energy into the grid, via small solar installations on many unused spaces like the rooftops of warehouses and strip malls. I like the idea of intelligent battery systems where we can see how much power is left in an industrial battery so that the storage of wind/solar energy can become meaningful.

It’s time to address energy with the same cleverness and creativity that we employed when we built the Internet. The brain power is there, the need is obvious. Let’s go.
